New York Times journalist, Jacques Steinberg, wrote a book about six age groupers training for and racing in Ironman Arizona 2009. (Although I’m not one of his subjects, I did get mentioned in the book. ) I like the book for how it lays out the details of transformation from potential Ironman to Ironman finisher. There’s no great revelations or epiphany. It simply says that anyone can do anything they put their mind to.
Also, in this episode: Marty tells us about the time that Mike swore he’d never do another Ironman.
