Day 44 – Feeling the Fatigue
130 days until IRONMAN 70.3 Chattanooga
FORM out, Tempo Trainer In
Some days I swim a 1:40 100 yards in 1:25 and then wonder why I’m so tired. I’ve come to realize my swim pacing skills are really really bad and in order to correct it I set my heart on getting a pair of FORM goggles.
The FORM goggles are just the coolest thing at the pool. They have a little computer that projects your stats, like pace and lap time, on the surface of the right or left eye piece so you can have information in realtime. And the price tag of $199 USD is not too heavy given the big cool factor.
FINIS Tempo Trainer Pro
I was on the phone with Coach Sami and mentioned my pacing problems to which she suggested I use something called the Tempo Trainer. It’s not as cool as the goggles, but it has two things going for it. It costs less than $50 USD and my coach swears it will teach me how to pace. I ordered the FINIS Tempo Trainer Pro.
I’ll let you know how it goes. It should arrive in the mail tomorrow.
Run Lowell Run! But make it easy.
I woke up very tired and for the first time in a long time I felt very fatigued. What was supposed to be a 45 minute easy run, turned out to be a 20 something minute slow run/walk: not necessarily easy. Days like this happen.
I’m pretty sure the reason I was so fatigued is that I had a bad night of sleep on Monday.
