Looking Forward to 2022

So… It’s been a little while since I’ve posted here. The TriRiot.com website was down and out for a couple of months. Here’s my recap of what happened:

TriRiot News By LG

2022-04-21. BACK ON LINE – “#@**#@$ this Internet $#!*” I was pissed off when my ISP upgraded the PHP and then the DSN didn’t know my URL which made things worse over my slow DSL. I was SOL. That’s what I get for living in BFE!

LOL!

It took me a couple of months, but TriRiot is back up and ready to serve you some of the best insights into the world of triathlon, endurance sport and life.

Now that we’re up and running again, I want to share with you some photos from 2021. I don’t have any good ones yet for 2022, but they’re coming soon.

A Non USAT Sanctioned Race

Last Fall, several of us participated in the Newport Dunes Triathlon in Newport Beach, California. One of my highlights had nothing to do with the race at all. I saw a McLaren! Actually, I saw two on the street. I’m not a car fanatic, but to see such a vehicle is kind of exciting. All I get to see out here are old trucks, commuter vehicles and heavy equipment.

Anyway, the race was a lot of fun and attended by a cast of wonderful characters. My sister, Deborah, and wife, Lori, joined in on the racing as well.

LG glad to be done with the swim

I told her not to let me pass her. I didn’t tell her that I’m a UCLA fan.

Business casual

Business silly

Best dressed spectator ever!

Deborah turned in an outstanding performance.

She left the competition in the dust.

The back end of a McLaren is a rare sight in my world

Donors to my Habitat For Humanity fundraiser

Even our cat came out to the race.

Coming Up In 2022

It’s already late April so the North American triathlon season is just getting started. I’m sure you’ve been training like a maniac lately. Me too. I’m registered for three races, but have to back out of one: IRONMAN 70.3 Chattanooga. Flights, hotels and everything are too expensive right now and I just laid out a large chunk of cash for Uncle Sam (taxes). The LG Inc. P&L and balance sheet tell me I’d be better off to take the lost registration fee right now. Otherwise, here’s what’s on tap for me. Hope to see you at a race soon.

  1. 2022-04-23: Durango Tri Club Virtual Triathlon

  2. 2022-05-22: TriRiot 70 Point Something. This will be my own half iron distance event in place of IM703 Chatty.

  3. 2022-09-10: Lake Nighthorse Sprint Triathlon. I wrote about this one after the 2021 edition.

  4. 2022-12-??: IRONMAN 70.3 Indian Wells.

There will be others to add to my schedule as the season progresses.

Until next time…
